Simon was appointed PGA Professional at Taunton & Pickeridge in August 2004. He has been a PGA Professional since 1994 and previously worked at Turnberry, Gleneagles and Cardrona.
During his time at Turnberry and Gleneagles Simon added to his experience with secondments to Riffa Golf Club in Bahrain and Troon North Golf Club in Scottsdale. Simon is a PGA Level 3 Coach, PGA Tutor in Coach Education, Head Coach of the Richard Huish Golf Academy, PGA Rules Referee, recently achieved the PGA Director of Golf qualification and has been recognised by the PGAfor his ongoing professional development by being awarded Fellow of the PGA status.
Simon coaches all abilities from beginners to professionals but has a straight forward approach to coaching golf. He targets all tuition towards the pupil's level of understanding and also the time they can dedicate to their golf. All tuition is geared towards that individual and coupledwith swing and practice drills means pupil's have more fun, are encouraged to play / practice more and improve their ability to score.Book lesson online
PGA Assistant Professional
Ali has been a member at "T&P" since 2003 when he took up the game age 13. He successfully represented the club at all levels from juniors through to men's first team.
Upon turning professional, Ali undertook the position of Assistant professional at Tiverton Golf Club in Devon and began his PGA training under Alistair Welsher.
Ali returned to T&P in March 2017 in his new position under Head Professional Simon Stevenson, who has coached him from a young age.
Having recently undertaken his UKCC level 2 coaching, Ali is a very keen teacher of the game. Following being part of successful "Get into Golf" programmes at Tiverton, Ali is keen on introducing more beginners to the game and has a huge passion for short game and putting coaching.Book lesson online
James joined the T&P Team in May 2018.
As an amateur James represented Somerset and represented Richard Huish College in the Intercollegiate tour, finishing inside the top 20 on the Order of Merit in his final year, as well as competing in Somerset Junior and Men's Order of Merit events.
In August of 2011 James turned Professional starting his P.G.A training to follow in his father's footsteps also a PGA Pro. James became PGA qualified in early 2015, in this time James has built up a strong reputation as a Teaching Professional, helping clients achieve their goals. His coaching style is built all around you the player, helping you develop your best swing that is going to create your desired ball flight and results. There's no point in trying to swing the club "perfectly" because we are all individuals, and so are our swings!!!
Since turning professional James has been an active player competing on the P.G.A west region circuit, finishing in the top 50 of the South west order of merit and many tops 10s finishes in pro ams and order of merit events.
