The Ladies’ Section at Taunton & Pickeridge enjoys an enthusiastic and dedicated membership. We welcome lady golfers of all ages and abilities, offering a wide range of competitions and social occasions for our members to enjoy.
Our ladies’ captain is Jeanne Leader and our ladies’ vice-captain Paulette Bamberger-Worton. To get in touch with Jeanne or Paulette please visit the club’s contact page.
The 1st tee is reserved for the ladies’ section on Tuesday mornings and also from 11 – 11.30 on Sunday mornings. Most weeks see a competition being run, with Sunday generally being the alternative day to play unless it is a Medal, in which case it is a stand alone competition. Any lady member with a handicap is welcome to enter, with those who don’t wish to be in involved in competitive golf playing after those competing.
We regularly play golf with the men, both in mixed competitions and some matches. These events are both popular and hugely enjoyable.
These are held throughout the year, offering a great way to play other courses and to enjoy their hospitality. Teams are entered into the following:
- Daily Mail Foursomes
- InterClub League
- Rogers Cup
- Wessex League
- Quantock Salver
- Centenary Plate
- Friendly Matches
Social Event Fundraising
For 2017-18 the lady captain, along with the club captain, is raising funds for The Parkinson’s charity . Several events take place throughout the year, all of which are well supported and highly enjoyable.
We recommend that lady members register at www.howdidido.co.uk – This website is linked to the competition system and results are displayed there. If you need assistance with registration all of our committee members are more than happy to assist.
