We’ve got a newly refurbished clubhouse and in 2018 we’re really going to be working hard to make the most of it. We’re aiming to run a good range of events, and we’ll gradually be adding them to this page. We’ll happily consider requests from members too, so do let us know what you’d like to see happen in your clubhouse.
To celebrate the completion of the clubhouse redevelopment we’re holding a cheese and wine evening on Thursday 15 March. This is an event for members only and the price is just £5.00 per person.
You’ll enjoy an arrival drink, cheese and nibbles, along with wine tasting organised by Tolchards. (It will be a light-hearted blind tasting and there’s a small prize for the wine-buff who can identify the most wines).
Arrive any time from 6:30pm, for wine tasting at 7:30pm
To book your place please email email@example.com and we’ll deduct £5.00 from your bar account. Alternatively just put your name down and pay at the bar.
Places are limited and you’ll need to let us know if you’ll be attending by Saturday 10th March at the very latest.
Who doesn’t like a decent curry? Quite. Well we serve such things every week but on Friday 23rd March we’ve got a curry night arrange. A few curries to choose from, and a deal to include a beer or a glass of wine.
No need to book, just come along and enjoy a taste of the Indian subcontinent, courtesy of Chefs Russell and Aaron.
The second of our steak nights in March. Same great price, same great steak cooked to your liking, served with Russell’s chunky chips. Still no need to book, though with the evening getting longer you might like to bring the whole family along and enjoy some late March sunshine. If we’re really lucky you’ll be able to sit on the terrace.
Join ladies’ captain-elect Jeanne Leader on Wednesday 4th April for a fun and lighthearted evening of all things golf. All lady golfers are welcome, and this is very much a chance for all lady members, including those new to the game to find out about the ladies’ section.
There will be information about matches and county golf, a not-too-serious rules quiz, discounted golf clothing from M&J Golfwear and just a general chance to meet people and have a chat over a G&T (or whatever else your tipple might be).
The cost is just £3.00 per person, to include nibbles, payable on the night, and there’s a sign-up sheet in the ladies’ changing rooms.
Big Quizzes 1&2 went very well. Big Quiz 3 is going to be even better with even easier questions, every other round about sport, and quite a few twists meaning that we might be looking at a different group of winners…
It wouldn’t be a quiz without a curry and whilst we haven’t set prices yet, the quiz entry will certainly be free with just a few little prizes to accompany the glory of being crowned as champions.
Who doesn’t like gin? Quite. So join us on Friday 20th April for a gin tasting evening. You’ll try various gins, mixed up with some different tonics, botanicals and the likes of orange, grapefruit and of course lemon.
We haven’t set the price yet, it won’t be expensive, but it will be a fun evening.
Keep an eye out in club newsletters for further details.
The PGA will be presenting a rules evening on Thursday 26th April at 7:00pm. There’s no charge to come along and we hope that a good number of our members will do so.
There will be food specials on the night so this sounds like to the perfect chance for nine holes, a spot of dinner and learning a few more things about the game we all love.
Always a popular event and despite the fact that this will be happening right in the middle of the World Cup, there’s no possibility of an England game on this date. (We do like to think about these things).
The price is £27.50pp to include live music from “The Man from Funkle” and a really excellent buffet. There will also be an extra discount at the bar to add to the party atmosphere.
